Not only can it be stressful for mother and child but it comes with a lot of twisting and turning. Helping infants and newborns realign can let their growing bodies focus on, well, growing! Chiropractic also helps to alleviate some of the conditions that children often suffer within the natural growing process as certain areas of the body can grow faster than others.
Children of all ages greatly benefit from chiropractic care and are usually very quick to respond. Many parents are unaware that chiropractic care can be a safe and effective alternative to drugs and surgery for their children.
It can also simply just make their children “feel better,” which often translates into a whole host of other positive improvements (not to mention a good attitude – although we make no guarantees there!)
She has completed training in CranioSacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute. She incorporates a wide variety of techniques to meet the unique needs of each patient. With kids and newborns, she is especially gentle. She will always explain what she is doing so that both parent and child are comfortable and at ease.
As children grow and tend to get more involved in activities, or sometimes become more sedentary, chiropractic care can be beneficial to helping them adjust to the lifestyle changes of growing up.
Whether it’s the load of their heavy backpack, participation in sports, or time spent in front of a screen, the muscle, tendon and joint structures of adolescents are under stress. Adjustments can help restore normal motion and help stop problems before they begin.
Dr. Gerson has worked with student athletes at many levels throughout her career. She loves to help kids of all ages learn how to care and advocate for their bodies. She loves helping keep them on the field (or pitch, court, pool, track…. whatever their surface may be)!
My daughter (15; competitive swimmer) and I absolutely love Dr. Emily. She manages her sport related wear and tear and my very unhappy neck. She has a wonderful bedside manner and I always leave feeling so much better than when I arrived. She is an integral part of our care; I don’t know what we’d do without her.”
